Images are great to be able to add to your model to make it look a little nicer and add realistic detail although at times I am guessing you need to add more than images. If you need to add a lot of text information to your model for things like specifications or assembly instructions, you may want to insert a MS Word or Excel document. Using the standard Insert image work flow, you can insert both an Excel or Word document as well as many other formats.
First, open a model you want to insert a document into and create a sketch that will allow you to insert it into your model. You can then select Insert Image from the 2D Sketch Panel. From the drop-down you can select from a number of file formats such as Excel and Word.
Here is an image of Word document that I want to embed into a motor to add specifications similar to a decal I might add to the real motor.
Once you have selected a Word or Excel file, you can insert it into the sketch and scale/position it where you want.
If you want to embed this image into the model similar to a sticker you can then use the Decal Feature from the Part Feature Panel to wrap it to a face. Select the Decal Feature then select the image and face you want it to wrap to.
You can then select OK and voila!
Garin,
Thanks for the tip. I have a question. Is this feature associative with the file? I mean if the information on Excel or Word document is updated, this changes will be reflecte on the model as well?
Thanks and Happy Holidays!!!

It is a static image that isnt linked to the file if the XLS get changes - that would be cool.
As for Flipe's question - you might make sure that the OS is defaulting the image type such as BMP or JPG to use the MS Paint program and see if that helps.
