With Autodesk Inventor 2008 around the corner, its a good time to start posting new features such as the new DWG TrueConnect.
Have you ever wanted to natively save Inventor drawings as DWG files?
With Inventor 2008, you will be able to save your drawings as DWG files by simply changing the default file type for drawings to DWG. You can view, plot and measure the data in either system. For edits you simply link back to the system that created the data.
This is big news for two important reasons:
First, DWG TrueConnect is built using 100% Autodesk technology to provide DWG output with unrivaled fidelity. You no longer have to bother with translators and the additional time and effort required to make sure the translator produced the correct output. With DWG TrueConnect, what you see in your Inventor drawings is what your supplier will see when they open it in AutoCAD. Its that simple.
Second, DWG TrueConnect provides full associativity with the 3D model, so DWG files created using Inventor will automatically update when changes are made to the model. The translator based solutions used by our competitors can not deliver this essential requirement.
Stay tuned for more to come.
